Pinball Machine Repair

Featured Work

Pinball Machine Repair

Challenge

Recreate a plane for a vintage World War II pinball machine. The original plane was broken and cracked beyond repair, so a replacement needed to be created. Due to the size and complexity of the part, the new plane had to be printed in three separate sections and carefully assembled.

Solution

The original part was 3D scanned and reverse engineered to create an accurate 3D model. The model was then divided into three sections, resin printed, and assembled to create a complete replacement.

Process

  1. Scanned the original part using an EinScan 3D scanner.
  2. Recreated and refined the part as a 3D model in Fusion 360.
  3. Divided the 3D model into three sections for resin 3D printing.
  4. Printed and assembled the three sections to create a new replacement part, along with an additional spare.
  5. Delivered the completed parts to the customer for in-house painting.

outcome

Successfully recreated the plane for a custom vintage World War II pinball machine, providing the customer with both a replacement part and a spare.

Custom Fabricated Desk

Featured Work

Custom Fabricated Desk

Challenge

Design and fabricate a custom metal desk frame to support a handcrafted wooden desktop. The finished frame needed to be perfectly level and provide a durable, industrial-style foundation for the custom wood surface.

Solution

Created a detailed 3D model for customer approval before fabricating the frame. Once approved, the desk was built, finished with a natural metal appearance, and protected with a clear coat.

Process

  1. Designed the desk frame in Fusion 360.
  2. Sent the 3D model to the customer for approval.
  3. Ordered and prepared the required materials.
  4. Cut all metal components to size.
  5. Welded the frame assembly.
  6. Sanded the frame to achieve an industrial, natural metal finish.
  7. Applied a clear protective coating to prevent rust.

outcome

Successfully fabricated a custom metal desk frame that paired seamlessly with a handcrafted wooden top. The completed desk was perfectly level, demonstrating the precision of both the metal fabrication and woodworking. The metal frame was fabricated by Manufacturing Mindset Association (Mikayla), while the wooden top was handcrafted by Mike Fanslau of Portable Wood Worker.

Custom Dog Grave Marker

Featured Work

Custom Dog Grave Marker

Challenge

Create a personalized memorial marker to honor a client’s beloved dog, Kya Rose. The finished piece needed to be durable, weather-resistant, and capture the pet’s memory in a meaningful way.

Solution

Worked closely with the customer to develop a custom design before fabricating the memorial using plasma cutting, laser engraving, and metal fabrication techniques.

Process

  1. Met with the customer to discuss the design and desired appearance.
  2. Created the custom design in Fusion 360.
  3. Sent the design to the customer for approval.
  4. Plasma cut the frame components.
  5. Welded the frame together.
  6. Painted the frame.
  7. Laser engraved an aluminum plate featuring an image of Kya Rose.
  8. Applied a protective clear coat to the engraved plate.
  9. Assembled the completed memorial after the paint had cured.
  10. Delivered the finished piece to the customer.

outcome

Created a custom memorial marker that provided a lasting tribute to Kya Rose. The finished piece combined precision fabrication with personalized engraving to honor the client’s beloved companion.

Custom Hose Adapter

Featured Work

Custom Hose Adapter

Challenge

Design a custom hose adapter that would securely connect a dual-action (DA) sander to a vacuum system, allowing debris and dust to be collected during operation.

Solution

Designed a custom threaded adapter in CAD, verified the design with the customer, and produced the final part using high-resolution resin 3D printing.

Process

  1. Measured the vacuum connection and determined the thread specifications for the DA sander.
  2. Designed the adapter in Fusion 360.
  3. Submitted the design to the customer for approval.
  4. Resin 3D printed the finished adapter.
  5. Test fit the part to ensure a secure connection.

outcome

Created a custom hose adapter that successfully connected the customer’s DA sander to their vacuum system, improving dust collection and overall workspace cleanliness.
