Pinball Machine Repair

Challenge

Recreate a plane for a vintage World War II pinball machine. The original plane was broken and cracked beyond repair, so a replacement needed to be created. Due to the size and complexity of the part, the new plane had to be printed in three separate sections and carefully assembled.

Solution

The original part was 3D scanned and reverse engineered to create an accurate 3D model. The model was then divided into three sections, resin printed, and assembled to create a complete replacement.

Process

  1. Scanned the original part using an EinScan 3D scanner.
  2. Recreated and refined the part as a 3D model in Fusion 360.
  3. Divided the 3D model into three sections for resin 3D printing.
  4. Printed and assembled the three sections to create a new replacement part, along with an additional spare.
  5. Delivered the completed parts to the customer for in-house painting.

outcome

Successfully recreated the plane for a custom vintage World War II pinball machine, providing the customer with both a replacement part and a spare.
